![]() Well, I could have sworn that week 53 would have been a bit shorter than this but I think that at the 50 minute mark we fill it with quality! No Story Time with AnnaBeth this week, she was a bit worn out after the Thanksgiving holiday so she took a pass, hopefully she'll be back and raring to go next week. In the meantime we've got Kerensa and I talking some games! Isle of Skye Oregon 6 Nimmt Linko Viticulture Cash n Guns 7 Wonders Duel We've also got Ray Shell hopping back on the podcast to give us a bit of a rebuttal to our T.I.M.E Stories talk from last week, we've got Derek Davis starting up a new Evolving Review where he's going to try to review a game 10 weeks in a row as he learns and plays it and ultimately decides if it stays in his collection, Mage Knight is the chosen game this go around. I talk a bit about a couple Kickstarters Tavarua Fantasy Fantasy Baseball Then Patrick Hillier closes us out by telling us a bit about his BGG Con experience, and even manages to review a small Cribbage app in the process. Give us some feedback, give us some reviews. If we get 5 more reviews on iTunes before Christmas, I'll do a small game giveaway. If we get 10 more reviews before Christmas, I'll give away something even bigger!! Thank you all for listening! Have a fantastic week! |

Wow, we've made it a year!!! So this is the anniversary podcast and it really does feature everyone. We start out the podcast with AnnaBeth and her Story Cubes and follow that up with a little bit from Kerensa and I about Project Dreamscape the only game that we got to play together this week. I did have a game night but we'll hit that next week. Then we follow up with a podcast round table featuring Chris Renshall, Joe Brogno, Patrick Hillier, Derek Davis, Eric Booth and special guest Jason Hancock from the Docking Bay 94 Podcast. We talk about all sorts of things, what we've been playing, why we play, our game groups and even some design aspirations and non-aspirations. We touch on the T.I.M.E Stories brouhaha a bit and round out the conversation with a bit of Kickstarter talk. I round out the podcast by giving my thanks to everyone who has contributed to the podcast in one way or another, either by interview or by contributing segments to the show. Thank you all for listening! Let me know what you think. I'm kind of hoping this can become a regular thing for the show, possibly a quarterly discussion. Feedback! Reviews! We love them all!! Thank you listeners for a great year, here's to the next! Cheers! |

Welcome to Week 51, one week before the big 52 milestone, well, it's a milestone to me anyway. :) This week AnnaBeth continues to tell us stories using Rory's Story Cubes, and then Kerensa and I discuss: Snowdonia Kingpins The King Is Dead Then we talk a bit about Kickstarter and my history of what I've backed, what I've received and most importantly, what's actually been played. Then Patrick joins us to talk a bit about board game apps and how they can help get the physical game to the table or it can even hinder it. My apologies if things seem a bit rushed, I was starting to feel ill while recording and I basically edited this wrapped in a blanket with a jacket on and still shivering. I hope it turns out listenable and enjoyable. Be ready though for Week 52!! Our contributor round table with Eric, Patrick, Chris, Joe, Derek and special guest Jason Hancock. Hopefully it's a lot of fun for you all to listen to, because it was alot of fun for us to record. Somebody get me some Vitamin C!!! I can't miss game night on Monday. :) |

![]() Well, it was a really good week of gaming, which would make sense since it was a great week for being a Kansas City Royals baseball fan. We joined 800,000 other fans in Kansas City on Tuesday and celebrated the only way we know how, being loud and dressed in blue. Really was a fantastic experience. But anyway gaming wise we tackled a few this week: Mystery Rummy Jekyll and Hyde Snowdonia Castles of Mad King Ludwig Snowdonia (again) Burgle Bros Isle of Skye Kickstarter wise we talk about Kodama The Great Dinosaur Rush Monster Truck Mayhem Keep Patrick pops in to review the Android app, Elder Sign at the 31:35 mark on the show. Then we close it out with a single acquisition and some talk about what the blog is going to probably become. Thanks for listening!!! |

![]() Welcome to Week 49 of the podcast. I am trying to do things a little different this week, instead of having Kerensa come in after I talk about what we played I figured we'd try our hands at doing the podcast together and I hope everyone enjoys it, please give us feedback on what you think. But before we get to that, AnnaBeth gives us her 2nd Story Cubes with AnnaBeth segment. Then Kerensa and I talk a bit about the games we played this week including: Carcassonne The Gallerist Lanterns Downfall of Pompeii After that, Joe and Chris from The Cardboard Architects Podcast join us and tell us what they've been playing the last couple weeks, and they do make up for missing last week with a lot of good talk. I talk a little about Kickstarter and Acquisitions of course, but Eric Booth closes out the show giving us his Top 10 Games that he has played 5 times or more, really a great list. He also mentions a charity event that he will be taking part in, 5th Annual Gamers for Cures 24hr Boardgame Marathon for the Turner Syndrome Society of the United States. The link to donate to this fantastic cause is below. This is an annual fundraiser now in it's 5th year and it's organized by Dan Patriss who you all may know from the Geek All Stars Podcast. If you do donate, give a shout out to Eric, I know I am going to. http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/gamersforcures/2015 That's it for this week, it's late, really late and the Royals are World Series champions, so my twitter feed will go back to being 99% about board gaming again. Thank you all, and once again, if you have any feedback that you'd like to give, please do, I'd love to hear it as we are continually trying to improve the show and make it better for the listeners. Have a great week! |
